The Harry Potter Zone

I'm entering the Harry Potter Zone. It's brought on by the release of a Harry Potter movie or book. The Zone will last until I have, not only seen the movie and book, but dissected it with others that are in the Zone.

I went yesterday and bought tickets for the 3:00 showing of the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Kenny and I will be there with our friends. I have my frequent buyer card ready to get Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on June 21 (at midnight, I'm sure.) I have finished the 6th book (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) again, so I'm ready for the final fight with Lord Voldemort.

It's a little hard to think of much else. Although I was awake last night until 1:30 watching Pride and Prejudice and I'm going to the library this morning to check out the last 3 tapes of the BBC version. I've heard over and over how wonderful Colin Firth is as Mr. Darcy - I'm not getting it yet. I wanted to smack him right up until his proposal last night - I'm looking forward to that story, too.

Yes, I'm also living in the real world. I'm cooking, cleaning, folding clothes, etc but my mind is in the Zone (or in 19th century England.)

good for you girl. I not sure when I'll get to the movie, but I can't wait to see it. I re-read almost all of the books, to get ready for book #7. I am in the middle of 6 right now.

After 3 and a half hours of Harry Potter talk today, but the time 10:30am hit, I was ready for a brief time of talking to my children about something other than HP. The movie was wonderful and now we are counting down the days until Deathly Hallows. This is like Christmas, you know, the anticipation is so sweet, then you rip open all your presents, and sit in the middle of the living room floor wondering what to do next. I think that it will be the same feeling after the last Harry Potter page is turned, savor the anticipation while it lasts.
