What's In Your Pantry?

Roxanne was recently doing a survey to see how much we all spend on food for a month. I saw this at another blog and thought it interesting enough to share with yall. It is a photo essay on what people eat in one week from around the world. It also puts the cost of that food in local currency and the US Dollar. Isn't it interesting how many pictures have soda, Kellogg's cereal, and bananas?

Check it out.

Did you notice that the tables with less processed food had cheaper bills? Hmm... I guess we really do pay for convenience. :)

The family in Mexico cracked me up... they had like 10 2 ltrs of coke on the back of their table... what? they don't drink the water either?

That is so interesting. My Father in Law is served Mutton alot where he lives overseas, and I couldn't remember what it was exactly so here is the dictionary explanation:
Mutton is older, mature sheep. Lamb is young sheep. Older sheep produce a richer flavor, but it can be tough if not cooked properly. The best way to cook any cut of mutton is very long and slowly. It is popular in Middle Eastern and British cooking.

I noticed all those Coke bottles behind the Mexican family too. Either the water isn't very good, or they need the caffeine (!)

I also noticed how much more processed food the US Family had. WOW.
