A Question For The Weekend

I'm trying to write about my time travel book and it has me thinking.

If you could change anything in your past, would you? What would it be?

Yes! I dated a guy in college off and on. If I could go back in time, I would have not ever gotten back together with him and I would have spent more time with my girlfriends and studying!

Love your slide show at Tammy's blog!

The one at the top of the list will not be published on the WWW. The rest of the list is so long, I wouldn't even know where to start. So, I'm reminded of Garth:

"Our lives are better left to chance. I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss... the dance."

I'm where I am today b/c of all the yuck, I guess, and I LOVE my current dance. So, I'm thankful for where the road has taken me.

So I'm with Sarah. All those things we screw up on bring us wisdom, humility, empathy, tenacity. HOWEVER, there are four things I wish I could go back and undo.

1) I would have been nicer to my brother--less bossy--more loving.

2) I would not have gone on and on and on in American History about how I didn't like my dad's name (Harold) while Harold Bradley was sitting there. I totally associate a name with a person--I have a teacher named Tony and a married a man named Tony and they are TOTALLY two different Tony people to me. Thus, my stupidity in discussing the name Harold when there was a Harold sitting right there.

3) Despite the fact that I was hormonal and exhausted and beyond emotional stability the day of my wedding, I would not have cried so much over the fact that my pink flowers had turned gray due to the negligence of the florist. It made my mother feel badly, and it was not my mother's fault.

4) I would have stayed at home rather than going back out to camp when my grandmother was sick. I was only 16, so I had no idea how badly my mother needed me there--just to have me there--but I know now. And I'd have stayed home.
